To design and develop a successful web site we follow four basic steps:
Step One:
Evaluate Your Business and Current Web Site
Evaluate the needs and requirements of your business
Front & Back begin every project with an evaluation of who you are and what you do. We look at a number of things including what products or services you are offering and what type of clientele or market-share you are trying to attract. Our team will also sit down with you and discuss your needs and expectations of your online presence, ensuring that the finished product will be one that satisfies your needs.
Evaluate your current web site (if applicable)
If you already have a web site, we also review:
- design element compatibility
- user-friendliness
- loading times
- browser compatibility (can everyone see you?)
- marketability: use of keywords, meta tags
- performance (are you getting results?)
Step Two:
Plan the Site
Content Decisions: What information to present and how
- What is your unique selling point? What makes your business special?
- Will this site include e-commerce, selling online?
- Do you want your visitors to interact with the site, or just view information?
Domain name selection
The choice of initial (primary) domain name is important to the success of the site. The name should reflect your business:
- by name
- product
- some other identifying feature of your business.
Front & Back can help you choose a domain name for your site if you do not already have one, and can also take care of the registration process on your behalf.
Hosting requirements
You need a server to host your site, if you don't already have one. We can recommend the most suitable hosting package to suit your needs.
Step Three:
Design and Develop, Web Site Creation
Organisation of the Site
Once it has been determined what content you want to display on your site, Front & Back will develop a site structure, keeping in mind that a good site structure will make your site easy for visitors to find their way around, ensuring that they don't miss anything.
Look and Feel
Front & Back will present you with design options based on our earlier evaluation and planning.
Development
Once the design has been agreed on, Front & Back will create the site and add your content. Front & Back will then upload all site files to your web server, making the site "live" and accessible to the world.
Step Four:
Market and Promote your Site
Begin marketing and promotion once the site is live
Your site is not going to do you any good if no-one knows it is there. Front & Back will submit your site to all major search engines and include all the relevant meta-tags (search words) to enable prospective customers to find you.
